Chapter 12 is now up! Plus Patreon

Chapter 12 of Magical Girl Policy is now up! Please go and read it as the trio of Robert, Eli, and Cory head to the Rale Valley Mall. What’s the worst that could happen? *insert everyone who read MGP Alpha shaking their heads*
In other news, I’ve set up a Patreon page. Now, if you so desire, you can donate a monthly sum as low as $1 a month towards the production of my work. In all honesty, I don’t feel my production level has, as of yet, been fully deserving of Patrons. That said, if you’re willing to donate, I appreciate it. Right now I’m setting up a goal of $50 per month which would be enough to at least get some art in here. If we reach that goal, then maybe we’ll look at other things to stretch me out.
But, the long and short of it, of course, falls on me to actually put out more chapters more regularly if I’m going to be deserving of such patronage than that. Still, if you have $1 a month to spare in your budget to help give me that little extra push, feel free to donate. 🙂

Look forward to seeing Chapter 12 responses,
Taralynn Andrews

So… Sailor Moon Crystal…

This may be a shock to those reading this because I write a story called Magical Girl Policy, but I never did really watch Sailor Moon. *cue dramatic chord* I saw a few episodes here or there, enough to know the main gist of the story and who the characters were. But never really watched it. So, seeing as I’m writing a story about it and this Sailor Moon Crystal thing is going on for free on Hulu, I thought I’d try it out and see if I can use anything in it for further inspiration.

Can’t really say much so far. The animation quality is better than what I remember for the few Sailor Moon episodes I saw. I think Usagi’s voice is a little grating but I have no idea if that’s sort of keeping in the tradition. I mean, she’s supposed to be a little whiny from what I can tell so that might be on purpose. Anyone else watching it?

In the meantime, I’m plotting out the next chapter of MGP. Just a reminder that in the forums there is a topic to help me name generic items. The guys and girls of MGP will be heading to the mall soon so any ideas you have on store names that would fit in at a mall would be helpful 🙂
Thanks for the help!

Oh thank heaven for Chapter 11!

As promised, Chapter 11 of Magical Girl Policy has been posted! It’s another dialogue heavy chapter so hopefully I don’t bore you to death and, even more hopefully, I’ll entertain you!

Because I just got WordPress updated (again, big thanks to Pip for the help) I feel the site is in need of some major overhauls. I finally took down that awful banner in the upper right I never updated. I’ll need to figure out something different.

With everything now up, I think I’m going to treat myself to a nice walk outside! I hope I don’t spoil myself too much! XD

Fresh air for the win!

Whoops! Chapter 10 is posted though

It is entirely possible (and how could we ever possibly know) that I may sort have kind of saved my post on April 3rd instead of posting it… whoops… sorry ^^;;

On the plus side, Chapter 10 of Magical Girl Policy is done and up for your viewing pleasure! I want to once again thank everyone who sent me words of encouragement at the time. And a very special thanks to my glorious editor.

Other than that, I put this in the chapter comments too, but I’m wondering, as a reader, what are the promises you feel I’m making to you as far as the story goes? What I mean by that is what promises do you think I’ve made about “X” going forward. What scenes, jokes, developements, etc do you feel I’ve basically foreshadowed would happen. It helps me to know what promises I’ve made. If you know what promises about characters and plots you feel I have made, please email them to me or throw them in the forum thread! That will be a great help!

Thanks for all your assistance and patience,

I’m back!

After an extended absence, Magical Girl Policy- Chapter 9 is up! *cue trumpets*
So just to give you all a heads up on why I was gone. Without going into specifics my job got more than a bit stressful in October. In addition to that, I took on an additional project and while that project has gone well, and consistent, I have been unable to be consistent with my writing, work, and additional project.
That said, I’m now confident that the discipline I have gained from this additional project will help me write better and more consistently. That said, I know there will be bumps in the road as I have (and I’m sure I’m sure you’re all nodding your heads at this point) not proven that I’m hugely consistent. To that end, I’m going to be making sure to post, at least once a month, on this site to let you all know if there isn’t a chapter, what the status is. That way you aren’t left completely in the dark.
I want to thank everyone who offered me their words of encouragement and support. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. While some authors write simply for the love of writing, I’m much more motivated by seeing others enjoying my work. Getting emails and messages that show you’ve enjoyed the story and hope that I’m well and that you’ve enjoyed the story I’ve created really helps keeps my creative engines running.
Before I head out, I just want to say that Chapter 9 is shorter than the other chapters but I felt it important to just get something out there for you guys to read. I hope to have Chapter 10 out before the month is up. But if it’s not up by April Fool’s Day, I’ll be sure to let you guys know why!
Thanks again for all your kind words!
Taralynn Andrews

Chapter 8 is up!

Magical Girl Policy- Chapter 8 is up for your perusal! Well, it’s actually up for your reading. I’m hoping you’ll do more than peruse. But that is your choice, not mine.

I want to thank those of you who have been leaving comments, sending emails, and commenting in the forums. These have been invaluable. I’m trying to do another drive on the forums to get a bit more activity (a lot of that is my fault) so I hope you’ll all give it a shot. It helps keep me motivated to keep writing. Can’t tell you how useful that is. I also just want to thank my invaluable editor. He has improved the quality of this story immeasurably. Seriously, thank Fate for him.

Lastly, friend of the site, Pip, the man who is kind enough to give me this domain space, had unfortunately lost his job. If you could run by, maybe throw a donation or vote for Sins on TWC, I know he’d appreciate it. He’s a great friend, awesome guy, and is responsible for this site even existing so I hope we can help him out at least in some small way!

Thanks for your time,
Taralynn Andrews

Eleven-thousand words! That’s how long chapter 7 is people. I’m sorry for it being more than twice my regular chapter size but it had to be done! Regardless, despite the long wait, the chapter is here and ready to be consumed by you! Yes you! Everyone thought I was writing the chapter for a wide audience but instead it’s just for YOU!

Though difficult, this chapter was a lot of fun and it only gets more fun from here on out. I’m getting to work on chapter 8 tomorrow and, though I don’t know how long it will be, I know it’ll be a fun chapter to write. I hope it will be even more fun to read!

Happy reading!

This time in a much more timely manner…

Yup. Chapter 6 is ready for your perusing! A big thanks goes to my editor. You know what, we’ll give the man the title The Editor because it sounds much more epic. The Editor is really helping me get on a much more regular writing schedule and improving my chapters. I dare say this chapter wouldn’t be coming out for another week without his encouragement. So thanks Editor. You are a hero to us all!
I want to thank all those who have been leaving comments on the chapters. They are GREATLY appreciated as it shows me that people are actually reading which is consequently why I write. I want people to enjoy it as much as I enjoy writing it. So if you would like to leave comments you can either comment here on the website, on the forums, or by emailing me ( personally. Thanks!
Speaking of the Forums, I have started a “Help Taralynn Name Things” thread. Any input you could give on that would be appreciated.
Also, I am just kind of curious to know something. Of those readers who write, how many of you write music or need silence? It’s a topic I’ve recently grown interested and am kind of taking a generic poll. I write in total silence myself. I find I have a hard time concentrating otherwise. How about you?
