Donations FAQ

Heya everybody. I’m Taralynn Andrews.
And I’m Kamizite Mawaru. Just call me Kami.
Some of you are pretty familiar with the Desk, some of you are newer to it. Either way, donations are new so we’re here to explain a few things on how donations work. First of all, you can donate in two ways: by Paypal or by regular mail.
Yeah, we’ve noticed a lot of people who come Taralynn’s Desk seem to be without credit cards, thus making the fact that they are feeling charitable a moot point. So we’re providing you a physical address you can send money to if you don’t have a credit card. If you want to donate by PayPal just click on the image of me and Taralynn to the left or you can just mail the donation to the address below:

Now, you might be wondering why you should donate. Aside from the good feeling you’ll get when you donate, donations go to helping out Kami and I. We’re posting stories and images for your entertainment and we’re happy to do it. But at the same time it still takes a lot of time out of our day. It’s not easy and neither of us is exactly rolling in the money.
*Kami exposes his empty pockets* Tell me about it.
So by donating you’re helping us pay the bills and helping us save up for future purchases. My laptop is now three years old and I just had to replace the monitor a few months ago. Eventually this thing is going to die so your donations are going to the “Taralynn’s Saving Up For a New Laptop” Fund! Truly a noble cause!
But you are not being left with only your good feelings. As a donation incentive, Villains’ Union of America, a collaborative story between Taralynn and I, is updated for every $50 we receive. VUA is guaranteed to always be funny and to always have multiple images in each chapter, drawn by yours truly.
Indeed! VUA is a comedy inspired by all the various super hero cartoon, comics, and movies we have all seen. Kami is the one who originally came up with the concept and I loved it! You really should check it out!
Which brings us to the question of what’s happening to the money? Well, first of all, Taralynn and I agreed to send a portion of the money to Pip to help with server costs. He protested that it wasn’t necessary…
Several times.
But we’re doing it anyway. Then, after we send Pip his portion, Taralynn and I split the rest 50/50. Maybe not elegant, but I like simplicity.
Me too! If you have any questions regarding donating or anything else, you can email me at taralynnand@gmail.com or you can email Kami at fadedsaint@gmail.com. We promise to read and respond to your emails as quickly as possible.
Well, I think we covered everything. Any other questions you think the readers might have?
Maybe we just need to specify this… we live in America. We can’t make use of Euros, Canadian dollars, pesos, or whatever other currency you may have got. Sorry.
You know someone is going to be sending us yen in the mail now just to spite you, right?
Yeah, I guess I opened myself up to that one. Oh, that reminds me. Some of you may be wondering “If we donate [insert X numbers of dollars here] as a group over a whole month, do you do anything special?” The answer is… maybe. Kami and I are looking into our options. We’re just making sure to not overload ourselves as we both still have jobs and I have school to worry about. If we do create what I call “donation benchmark” content, then I want it to be something worthwhile to the loyal readers of the Desk.
Well I guess that’s about it. Thank you all for reading this and especially thank you for donating. It really makes us feel good that you feel the site is worth enough to donate.
